Cumin oil, originally from Asia, has been known since the time of the Egyptian pharaohs, including as an aphrodisiac. As a spice, cumin (zira) is one of the main components of curry.

The aroma is warm, spicy-herbaceous, sharp, with musky notes.

Essential oil of cumin has the following properties:
