What is a sore throat?

The causes of sore throats are usually infections that can be caused by many different bacteria and viruses. Inflammation of the throat may be associated with different diseases - ranging from the common cold to infectious mononucleosis.

What are the symptoms of a sore throat?

Sore throat is often associated with the general weakness and fever. The symptoms of sore throat are runny nose and cough. In case of sore throat an acute pain is simply felt in throat when coughing, as well as throat irritation. However, the symptoms of a sore throat are different in each individual. High body temperature and a feeling of weakness are quite typical.
