Nowadays is quite difficult to find organic, high-quality, low-cost means for hair care that are not tested on animals. For me it was important to find a product that is suitable for all these criteria. Certainly, I heard repeatedly about healing power of henna and finally I decided to verify the accuracy of these words. Since then 4 years have passed and I regularly use henna for health purposes.
During this time I learned many interesting things about henna. For example, the Indians use this natural dye almost every week, besides henna is also a part of many organic shampoos and conditioners. It protects the hair from the hot rays of the sun, strengthens and enriches them with minerals. Henna has a symbolic meaning in the cultures of the East, for example, in India, mehendi (henna tattoo) is used for celebrations such as weddings and other special occasions, which are traditionally associated with transformation and the transition to a new level. It is used to emphasize their religion, but what is very important - not for vanity!
Its medicinal properties are also used in medicine, with its help almost all the cuts, many skin disorders are treated, it relieves pain and improves mood. I found out another interesting fact about this product - unlike other dyes henna can be used for young moms during breastfeeding.
I immediately realized that the choice of this hair care product must be very delicate. Firstly, you should pay attention to the price. A quality of henna is a decisive factor of choosing! If we talk about organics, we need not look powder less than 100 g per 4-5EUR. Cheap package is not an option. This does not mean that the most expensive dye will be the most high-quality, it is necessary to take into account other criteria, but it is best not to pay attention to a very cheap option. Secondly, the color. It all depends on what kind of shade you want to get - a fiery red, maroon, or try the darkest option. I tried standard red and dark henna and also mixed it with coffee. The uniqueness of Indian Henna dye is that there is no need to make experiments over the mixture and worry about the outcome. The collection of henna based dyes is ready-made formulas that were specifically designed for the acquisition of the best shade. You can choose your needed color; there are three shades of brown (light, medium, dark), red and black. Third, you need to read the annotation. The presence of variety of useful herbs is always an absolute plus. And even if you do not want to change your natural color, you can apply colorless henna for the recovery of hair, it is also a part of Indian Henna’s series.
The active ingredients of Indian Henna - it is only natural herbs:
Henna (lawsonia inermis) - has a pronounced therapeutic effect for hair, nourishes and moisturizes from root to tip, improves microcirculation, softens, making it easier combing, gives the hair thickness, volume and beautiful shine, color stability, pleasantly cool head, relieves fatigue.
Indigofera (indigofera tinctoria) - stimulates hair growth, reduces inflammation of the scalp, dandruff, gives hair a beautiful shine, while not weighing it down, makes hair soft, gentle and obedient, making it easy to comb.
Amla (emblica officinalis) - restores damaged hair, prevents hair loss and gray hair, improves blood circulation, regenerates cell metabolism and stimulates hair growth, strengthens the roots and bulbs, returns the hair strength, elasticity and shine, eliminates dandruff, relieves irritation and inflammation, gives antiseptic protection.
Bhringraj (eclipta alba) – “king of hair”, revitalizes hair follicles, stops hair loss and baldness, nourishes and moisturizes and restores dry, brittle, thinning hair, gives splendor and luxurious shine, enhances the natural color of the hair, prevents gray hair, gives a cooling effect, relieves headaches and irritation.
Neem (azadirachta indica) - a highly effective tool for the treatment of hair, restores thinning, dry hair, removes fungus, dandruff, lice, reduces inflammation, eliminates dryness, peeling, itching, and various skin diseases.
I put henna every 1.5-2 months to color the regrowth hair roots. Preparation of this healing mask is very simple and quite feasible at the home. Dissolve the powder in boiling water (I usually take 50-75g of Indian henna) and then stir. It is important to remember that the mixture should not be too liquid, but more like a sour cream’s consistency. Actually it’s all, henna is ready to use. I put henna on dry hair for a whole night and next morning I thoroughly wash off all the henna and then use the shampoo. As a result, the hair is shiny, thick and looks spectacular. And most importantly - you can imagine something more natural! Indeed, the henna is a whole medical organic complex for hair care.
Using henna is easy and inexpensive way to recover the beauty of hair. Even if you regularly use a chemical dye, why not take a break and give your hair a rest? Just do not forget - before using henna after chemical dye it is recommended to wait at least three months (depending on how bright dye was used).
